About Us
SACRED is a licensed i502 Tier 1 craft cannabis company that provides retail stores across Washington State with high quality cannabis flower, joints and propane hash oil (PHO). Our family farm is located in Port Townsend, WA.
Our Story
The seeds for SACRED were sown over 20 years ago when Josh and Seth first began to grow cannabis. Each on their own journey, Josh in Northern California and Seth in Colorado, to deeply understand the spirit of cannabis. Starting small, from scratch, learning as they went. Trying different growing styles, mediums, nutrient regimes and strains. Some projects became great successes and others provided valuable learning experiences. Two decades later, with young families in tow, Josh and Seth met in Washington. There was an instant recognition of kindredness and a mutual desire to see if it was possible to build a successful cannabis company, in a burgeoning market, that was rooted in the values of the "old ways."
SACRED is our humble offering. An attempt to grow high grade cannabis while building a business based on trust, craftsmanship and good vibes. To share our passion for cannabis with the world and pay homage to this sacred plant.
Our family farm is run by the four owners who are involved in every level of the business. Josh Surratt, our Founder and Head Cultivator, has worked in medical and recreational cannabis for more than 20 years. He prides himself on being a self-taught craftsman that continues to learn and evolve his methods as new technologies become available. He has grown indoor, outdoor and greenhouse; in soil, hydro, and soil-less mediums; at micro farms to Tier 3 farms and everything in between. Seth Cunningham, our Director of Sales, has also worked in medical and recreational cannabis for over 20 years. He brings a friendly and approachable face to the company, backed by a wealth of knowledge and experience from his many years of being a Head Cultivator. Seth played college football, completed culinary school at the Art Institute of Colorado, and earned an AA from Grossmont College. Aleah Lawrence-Pine, our Director of Administration, has worked in cannabis business operations for seven years and previously in non-profit program administration for more than 10 years. She is knowledgeable in building organizational capacity and systems for efficient operations from the ground up, cannabis licensing requirements, human resources and finances. She holds a BA in Environmental Studies from the University of California Santa Cruz. Chelsea Hansen, our Director of Safety, has worked in medical and recreational cannabis for nearly a decade as well as previously working for the USDA-NRCS. She works diligently on maintaining a safe workplace, compliance with labor and safety laws and keeping the facility well stocked and operating smoothly. She holds a BS in Wildland Soil Science from Humboldt State University.
